Great book! i would say that people should have SOME basic knowledge of stitching and sewing, but there are plenty of good books for that out there. As far as automotive upholstery goes, this is a great book.
This book is easy to understand with good photos and gives the novis a good basic understanding of auto interior upolstery. A good easy read wheather you are DIY or trying to evaluate a prospective shop to hire.
Sent this to my man who is away. He said it was a good purchase and showed more things than he expected to find. He would recommend.
Best if you have some experience already, I know nothing, have no experience, so not for me
Very informative on what I need to know to get the job done. Wish it covered window trim too but over all great book for finishing a car interior.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy for review.I was impressed; this book is beautifully illustrated with step-by-step instructions. It was cool seeing all his tools – a mix of new and old. The book is split into 6 primary chapters covering restoration of seats, door panels, armrests, headliners, carpets and convertible tops.I was pleased to see that for the armrests it went into details not only for the upholstery but also of making new sheetmetal frames/supports.Having done some upholstery work in the past, I do not expect to get the professional quality work displayed in the book without some practice and much effort. This book gives ideas and descriptions to help speed up the process.
