This workbook will provide many anxiety sufferers with much-needed relief.” —David F. Tolin, PhD, ABPP, director of the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Institute of Living and author of Face Your Fears “I strongly recommend this self-help book for people suffering from various forms of anxiety. These authors effectively describe in lay terms how mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness skills augment the more traditional applications of cognitive behavioral therapy strategies in the treatment of anxiety. This book was recommended to me by a friend who is also a therapist. It has been an amazing tool to help me learn mindfulness and ways to handle my anxiety. I am reading one chapter a day then spending time reflecting on what I've learned. I would recommend doing the same and not just rushing through to the end. If you have anxiety, you NEED this book!
This has truly made a difference with my panic disorder and I am so I grateful it was recommended to me! I highly recommend it to anyone who is having a hard time coping with anxiety, panic, or PTSD.
Fantastic for anxiety. Helped me tremendously.
If you are a person who likes to journal and it helps to let things out through writing than this is for you!! This has really helped me with my stress levels and a few times a week I go back to it as a refresher!!
This is such a wonderful tool. It is easy to read, worksheet excercises are clear, easy to understand and apply. Something that can be used in conjunction with counseling as well.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy DBT, has been the most effective therapy I've encountered in treating my symptoms and additional Anxiety Disorders associated with PTSD. Those that have decades invested in therapy in general understand the value of continuing the journey outside of the therapists office. This workbook has been a great tool, among the many that DBT offers, for addressing the big "A" Anxiety. If you suffer from anxiety, this workbook will take you through the steps of radically accepting anxiety, identifying it non judgmentally, and living with it mindfully. You can reduce your suffering by understanding your anxious mind.
this book has excellent tools to assist with therapy or use on your own.
I decreased my klonopin by 1/2 to 2 mg / day after applying the skills in this book for over a month. I had a friend who was hospitalized recently at Mayo Clinic in Rochester and they had group meetings on topics included in this book. Very rewarding...read only that which is pertinent to you may I suggest..so you don't 'catch' a fear you hadn't thought about before :P
