Can't believe the amount of info in here, on EVERYTHING. I'm sort of new at gardening (flower), and this book takes me by the hand and tells me everything I need to know. It also covers trees/shrubs, vegetables, starting beds, pests... I don't think they left anything out. If you live in CO, get this book.
I am a CO front range gardener and this book is AMAZING. Such great advice, including very specific advice and guidance for plant varieties, weather patterns, and the myriad microclimates we tend to have all in one yard. I love this book so much. It's also just a great browse. Really inspiring.
An excellent guide to get you into the garden and not feeling totally lost. Can be overwhelming if it's your first time taking on a gardening project, but reading this book keeps me grounded in the now.
Love this book, im new to my state and not really sure about gardening here. This gives you a month-by-month of what and how you need to learn how to garden in the mountains. I’ve lived in the south all my life so I’m use to hot humid climate. Snow and wind are all plentiful here,so it will take time and a great book like this is very helpful

I've followed John Cretti for 34 years. I've even met him and then wife at a Home/Garden Show. I have all their books which have improved in format and become my favorite books to give to gardeners just starting out.
This book has so much more information than I even expected. It's amazing covers things they wouldn't normally think of being a first-time gardener I would recommend it to everyone in Utah Colorado Idaho and Wyoming it's amazing.
